Finance Department, Govt. of Kerala goes digital

Finance Department, Government of Kerala in India implements complete digital file processing (e-office). As per Government Order GO(Ms)No 146/2014/Fin Dated 22/04/2014    the files being received in Finance Department for clearances, advices, remarks etc shall be digitised at the entry point and the physical file will be returned to the respective departments with a note that decision shall be intimated via e-mail. Thereafter the file shall be digitally processed by different functionaries and the final decision shall be intimated via email to the Secretary of the department which has sent the file. This will definitely speed up the decision making as well as enhance the transparency. 

This is another environment friendly decision from the finance department that will substantially reduce the use of paper and other office stationary within the department. This system shall be implemented in all other departments in the government secretariat   Earlier this year the department has decided to implement complete digital bill processingand e-disbursement of salary of state government employees.
